Why You Need A Production Company With An Actual Studio

You’d be surprised at the number of production companies that don’t have an actual studio.

And if not having a studio wasn’t enough, some production companies would even go so far as to not attain office space for their “employees”.

When considering what production company to go with, it’s important to do a bit of research into who they are, what they’ve done, how they operate, and who the key players are. There are a lot of production companies out there that produce stunning work and great video quality. They also consist of a few random guys who run a website and work from home.

Careful.

While there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with not having studio space, it does leave some room for questions of validity.

A production company without office space limits itself to field or on-location shoots, leaving less opportunity for indoor studio work. For some clients, this makes no difference; some prefer to have their corporate videos shot on-location or in-house. But for those who might want to widen the scope of their options, companies like Key West Video are ideal for versatility.

A production company with studio/office space assures a client that it not only takes itself seriously professionally but is also well-established and experienced. It’s been around long enough to occupy physical space and pays a rental fee to remain there. It is not only open for business – business is free flowing. It is also a place where clients can visit and speak to us one-on-one in a professional setting.

Through our studio space, we are able to extend our services to the following: greenscreen, training videos, corporate video blogs, studio rentals, actor services (such as workshops, demo reels, private coaching and self-tape auditions etc.). A literal, physical space also affirms accountability. Our clients are welcome to visit us anytime

A literal, physical space also affirms accountability. Our clients are welcome to visit us anytime with questions, concerns, personal involvement in the production process, or as silent supporters of the work we do for them as a client. We welcome our client’s interaction with our brand and would encourage any production company to take the steps towards doing the same.

Here at Key West Video, we specialize in creating professional, legitimate corporate videos to our diverse range of clients. For more information on the services we provide both inside and outside of our studio, visit our website today!

Why Corporate Photography Isn’t As Easy As It Looks

One general assumption is that corporate photography can be done by just anyone. Nothing is farther from the truth.

Corporate photography, like any other art form, takes careful precision, attention to detail, and technical skill. It is a science as much as it is an art form.

But for some reason, many assume that one becomes a photographer at the simple purchase of a DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera.

This is far from the case. Just because you have the tool, does not mean you have the craft.

Corporate photography requires a lot more than a “good eye”. We at Key West Video have worked with a vast amount of corporate photographer who knows the ins and outs of the latest camera technology. One thing we’ve come to realize is that not only it a never-ending learning process, but that different sets of corporate photography calls for different measures.

Headshots and Portraits

For example, corporate (or non-corporate) headshots, group photos, and portraits call for a specific aesthetic. Typically,  corporate photographers should understand fluorescent lighting and how to manoeuvre employees in order to get the best, most effective corporate look. Headshots say a lot about an employee. Whether it’s for a prospective employee on the hunt for a new job or a long-time employee looking for an upgrade, your corporate headshots need to be a professional, but accurate, representation of you.

Event Photography

Key West Video photographers are also highly skilled in event photography. Whether’s it’s a major convention or a private corporate event, we’ve had the honour of shooting stellar photography throughout the years. It’s important that your brand represents the corporate climate or culture of your company. We have a keen eye for flattering candids that accurately depict you.

Drone photography has become a recent phenomenon in the past few years. They offer a unique way of capturing the corporate climate of your company. They also grab wide-scale shots to give viewers a better look at what your company looks like. Whether it’s outdoor workers or the building’s architecture, drones are an excellent way to capture an all-encompassing bird’s eye view.

Product Photography

Lastly, we have product photography. Almost a stark contrast to aerial photography, product photography gets up close and personal with your product or service. We shoot (extreme) close-ups of your product or services, giving audiences an intimate, insider’s look at what you’re all about. Often used for educational or entertainment (or infotainment) purposes, this can be a great way to illustrate the ins and outs of your company and help shape a story around who you are.

At Key West Video, we understand the differences between the different types of corporate photography that is necessary to keep our clients happy. For more information on the services we provide, visit our website today!
